About Casares Beach
The coastal section of the Casares municipality, known as Casares Costa or Bahía de Casares, offers several kilometres of wide, unspoilt beach that represents some of the best value on the coast. The sand is coarser and darker than Marbella's beaches, with a distinctly more natural, uncrowded character. Development is more recent and lower-density, giving the area a spacious, uncramped feel. Several new residential developments (including the Alcazaba Lagoon complex) have brought modern amenities to the area while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere. The beach is popular with local dog walkers in winter and families in summer. Chiringuitos are fewer but generally excellent. Property prices here are notably lower than in Marbella, making it popular with buyers seeking beachside living on a budget.
