Playa La Cala

Over Playa La Cala

The charming beach of La Cala de Mijas retains the authentic character of a traditional Andalusian fishing village beach. Wide golden sand extends for nearly a kilometre, gently shelving into clear, calm waters perfect for families. The beach is backed by a delightful paseo (promenade) lined with traditional restaurants, cafés, and small shops. Weekly markets add to the village atmosphere. Several chiringuitos serve outstanding espetos and fresh fish at remarkably reasonable prices compared to Marbella. La Cala has a genuine community feel, this is where locals swim, socialise, and enjoy long weekend lunches on the sand. The surrounding area has seen significant property investment, with modern developments complementing the traditional village core.
