The coarser sand and rocky sections create interesting snorkelling opportunities, and the waters are often remarkably clear. Several well-run chiringuitos provide seafood, cold drinks, and sun lounger service. Calahonda as an area is particularly popular with the international community, British, Scandinavian, and German residents have created a cosmopolitan village atmosphere.
