One of the most popular beaches on the western Costa del Sol, Playa del Cristo is a stunning horseshoe-shaped cove sheltered by a rocky headland and the Estepona marina breakwater. The calm, crystal-clear waters and gentle sandy bottom make it arguably the best family beach between Marbella and Gibraltar. The sheltered position means the water is often warmer than neighbouring beaches and almost always calm, ideal for young children and nervous swimmers. A vibrant row of chiringuitos and restaurants lines the back of the beach, serving excellent seafood and cold drinks. The beach has Blue Flag status, excellent lifeguard coverage, and good accessibility. Parking can be challenging in summer, arrive early.
